Android-Human Theater "Sayonara"(good-bye) World Premiere

After their robot-human theater production of "In the Heart of a Forest" in August this year having created a sensation in various fields, Oriza Hirata + Ishiguro Laboratory now present the world premiere of their new piece "Sayonara"(good-bye) as part of Aichi Triennale 2010.

This innovative short play is played by a Geminoid F, a humanoid robot developed by Ishiguro Laboratory this year that looks exactly like the woman who it was modeled after, and a human actor. Examining the question: "what do life and death mean to humans and robots?", this piece will alter the audience's images of robots and humans, and present a compelling fusion of theater arts and science.
